FACING GLOBAL TRENDS IN RETAIL

FACING GLOBAL TRENDS IN RETAIL

In late February 2024, the INPUT delegation attended one of the world's largest retail trade fairs, EuroCIS in Düsseldorf.

EuroCIS, held for the 15th time, welcomed over 13,500 visitors from 95 countries and nearly 500 exhibitors.

Attendees, predominantly decision-makers and retail owners, had the opportunity to hear and see the relevant themes and trends that will shape the retail industry in the future.

The overall conclusion of this significant event is encapsulated in the insight that we are living in a time when the retail sector is undergoing dramatic transformations, and technological innovations will determine its sustainability. Dominant themes include AI applications for a wide range if of areas, increased efficiency, and a user-centric approach to all solutions – such as those for faster checkout, smart payment solutions, or smart shopping. Forming the basis for all of this is the automation processes, as well as high-performance IT infrastructure and cloud technologies.

Topics such as autonomous stores, automatic item recognition at checkout zones, service robots, ESL systems (Electronic Shelf Labels), smart shopping carts, interactive kiosks, and adaptable shopping solutions further enhanced the rich exhibition offerings.

The next EuroCIS will take place in Düsseldorf from February 18 to 20, 2025. Until then, follow INPUT and expect the implementation of solutions showcased at EuroCIS 24.
